![Binhai South H3 Offshore Substation Stands]()

300MW wind farm project located in the Yellow Sea, off the east China coast

Location: Yellow Sea, China

Operator: PowerChina Huadong Engineering (HDEC)

Duration: 2017

Scope: Structural concept and detailed design, structural analysis, fatigue, ship impact, redundancy and on-bottom stability analyses for the jacket substructure

Binhai South Phase 3 Wind Farm is a 300MW offshore wind farm in China. The project is located in the Yellow Sea, Jiangsu and consists of 75 WTGs and one offshore substation.

Kent has completed the concept design, detailed design, and follow-on support of the offshore substation platform with a water depth of 16.2m. The substation consists of a topside installed on a four-legged jacket with skirt piles grouted into pile sleeves which were suitable for installation in the soft silty soils off China’s east coast.

Kent’s key responsibilities for the project included:

- Structural concept and detailed design to IFC (Issued for Client comment) of both the topsides and jacket.
- Structural analyses including in-place, transportation, seismic and lift analyses for topsides and jacket.
- Fatigue, ship impact, redundancy and on-bottom stability analyses for the jacket substructure.
