# Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm

![Japanese waters]()

402MW capacity wind farm with 67 turbines

Location: Norfolk, UK

Client: Equinor

Duration: 2014 - 2018

Scope: FEED, Detailed Design, Commissioning Assistance

### The Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm is located 20 miles off the coast of Cromer in North Norfolk, around 14 miles north-east from the operational Sheringham Shoal Offshore Wind Farm. The 402MW capacity wind farm consists of 67 6MW turbines and a single offshore substation platform.

Kent was commissioned to undertake the concept, FEED and detailed design of the 67 individual monopiles & 67 individual transition pieces, designing a monopile with a diameter of greater than 7m, which at the time was larger than any other previous designs. Additionally, the monopiles were installed at locations with water depths up to 36m – the deepest application of this foundation type at the time of installation.

As well as the design of monopiles and transition pieces, Kent was responsible for the following project activities:

- Geotechnical analysis and engineering, resulting in no pile refusal during installation
- Structural, electrical, process and utilities design
- Structural analyses (including the full in-place, load-out, transportation and lift analyses for all structures)
- Interface management assistance between design, fabrication and installation contractors
- Fatigue analysis, ship impact, redundancy and seismic redundancy
- Post-fabrication, transport & installation management assistance
