Kent is looking for a Lead Engineer- Process, to be based in Mumbai/Vadodara office, who will have around 15+ years relevant Process Design & Detail Engineering experience, mostly in the field of Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical or Chemical sector with large EPC companies or Engineering Consulting organizations. You should be effective with verbal and written communication skills.

Skills & Responsibilities:

  • Review / Process design basis for the project in line with Client and project requirements.
  • Review / provide guidance for preparation of all process discipline design deliverables such as Process datasheets, design criteria, specifications, design calculations, etc.
  • Lead the process discipline efforts in project design reviews.
  • Lead Process discipline efforts in HAZOP studies.
  • Participate in SIL review to give required process inputs.
  • Attend and proactively lead / discuss the process discipline queries with the Client during weekly meetings with Client as required.
  • Perform inter-discipline squad checks for other discipline key deliverables, drawings, etc.
  • Effective interaction with other disciplines to get project issues resolved in a timely manner.
  • Active participation in 3D Model reviews
  • Providing process inputs to other disciplines like mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, civil, etc.
  • Review vendor documents and quotations for compliance with project requirements, and raise technical queries as needed.
  • Review technical reports as submitted by any third-party agency for process activities outsourced if any.
  • Identify skill gaps if any and have a mitigation plan for the same.
  • General guidance to process engineers / designers as appropriate.
  • Shop inspections for FAT/SAT if required.
  • Attend and proactively lead / discuss the process discipline queries with the Client during weekly meetings with Client as required.
  • Site surveys and adequacy checks if required.
  • Attend risk management meetings, value addition meetings, and other safety related meetings as required.
  • Perform technical audits and quality reviews.
  • Site pre-commissioning activities and engineering support as required as per project scope of work.
  • Work out the MFL for the project as per the project schedule and inform HOD well in advance if any additional resource requirements.

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:

Education:
•Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical engineering.
Experience:
•18-20 years of basic and detail engineering experience in Upstream Oil & Gas, Refinery, & Petrochemical industry.
•Candidates having experience in Engineering office of Reputed Consulting Engineering Companies preferably in the field of Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemicals will be preferred.

Knowledge:
•Oil and gas and/or Refinery experience required.
•Experience in FEED and detailed engineering of Refinery projects, Upstream oil and gas projects, oil tank farm projects handling petrochemical products, storage, and transportation of petroleum products (liquid/gas) via pipelines, road loading gantries, etc.
•Must have handled utilities and offsites projects handling utilities required for oil and gas and petrochemical plants.
•International Codes & Standards and Best Engineering Practices that apply to Process design.
•Quality management system and procedures
•Project management and control procedures
•Process workflow and interdisciplinary co-ordination.
•Project Process Deliverables
•Project Risk Assessment
•Adherence to HSE norms by self and team
•Proficiency in understanding of Process design aspects.
•Good communication skills as required for effective interaction with Client and the process team

Software Skills:
•Aspen Hysys suite
•Steady state/Transient hydraulics software KORF, AFT Fathom, AFT Arrow etc.
•Microsoft Office Suite

Communication:
•Effective verbal and written communication.
•Identify/report technical concerns and solutions in a clear and concise manner.
•Attend project and team meeting.
•Conduct technical training session for team.
