Here, she introduces herself and tells us her experience.** Hello, my name is Naomi Mulders. I am 14 years old and I live in Etten-Leur in the Netherlands. I have several hobbies: reading, painting and swimming. But my biggest hobby is hockey. I am currently a goalie at Rapid MB1 (U16) in Gorinchem. We play sub-top nationally, so, in addition to training at least 3 times a week, I have a game every Saturday in the South of the Netherlands; from Rotterdam to Maastricht. I also like to umpire hockey games. I umpire both youth matches and senior matches from local up to regional level. I did an internship at Kent Pernis in the HSE department this summer. Because of coronavirus, I got to work from home. Among other things, I was able to process eye rounds, resets, system reviews and safety pays off administratively. I really enjoyed being able to experience the business world in this way and understand what it means to be “working safely”. At the beginning I had to get used to the different handwriting on the different forms. Sometimes it was really puzzling to be able to decipher what they meant, but the more forms I processed the faster it went. Sometimes I wondered why certain things would or would not be done. Then you notice that theory is sometimes slightly different than practice. Also, I didn’t expect that one form could bring about a lot of work. My classes at school have started again. Unfortunately, my work for Kent also stops, but I hope that in the future I can help with the processing of HSE papers again. Thanks for this experience and who knows until next time!
