--- title: Kent wins CCS contract for INEOS-led project Greensand in Denmark date: 2022-11-28T10:37:00+00:00 author: Lourdes Carmona canonical_url: "https://kent.nzi.me/news-insights/kent-wins-ccs-contract-for-ineos-led-project-greensands-in-denmark" section: Blog --- 28 Nov 2022 Project News # Kent wins CCS contract for INEOS-led project Greensand in Denmark ![INEOS GREENSAND]() Kent, a leading engineering company in oil and gas; decarbonisation; carbon capture, utilisation, and storage (CCUS); offshore wind; and hydrogen (H2), have been awarded a major contract win by INEOS Energy for Project Greensand in Denmark. Project Greensand works to reduce CO2 emissions into the atmosphere. This is done by capturing CO2 from the emitters, transporting, and storing the CO2 in the subsurface of the North Sea in depleted hydrocarbon fields. Kent has been selected to conduct screening studies covering the CCS Value Chain from the onshore capture sites, liquefaction, onshore storage, transportation, and offshore sequestration. The scope includes studies to investigate the transportation of CO2 and its storage potential in the depleted Nini Field in the Danish North Sea, which is expected to provide a storage capacity of between 0.45 to 1.45 mta million tons per annum (mta). The project will look at further expansion and use of other depleted fields and adjacent aquifers in the Siri Area (e.g. Cecilie, Nini East, Stine, and Siri), which may have a storage potential of up to 8 mta.
